After painting the garage floor, we got lot of confidence in painting job and apart from that, after planting work in our mini garden, at some parts of the deck, paint peeled off and we thought of painting the deck. Since we painted garage, we thought it will be very easy for us to paint the deck. Turned out that we are totally wrong.
July 5th:
We went to homedepot and talked to the guy at paint department and he seems to be very knowledgeable. He explained about the paint remover and the process on how to paint on deck etc. In “Behr” section paint division, there was video playing on how to apply paint on deck. We watched the video for sometime and we discussed quite a time to deicide on color and the process and bought all the required accessories and came home, planning to start next day..
July 6th:
Next day we started cleaning with the 2-in-1 paint remover. We were thinking that once we apply the paint remover, paint will just peel-off :) . How stupid of me..

We need to use rake & water jet to get the paint off. Bala & me worked till evening on saturday to get the paint off and we were successful only 50% and by that time we were so tired.

Started the same process again on sunday morning..
We could only peel 70% of the paint.
We post-poned the work to next week.
Jul12th
We started again on saturday.. and Bala really worked hard to get the remaining thing off, even though I was telling him to take it easy and let us paint over it. Finally we made almost 95% of paint removed from the deck.

We let the deck the dry whole saturday and full day of sunday.
Started the painting on sunday evening at 4pm and it was done by 5:50pm. Painting was easier on deck. Check out more photos of our painting job on gallery
